Transportation: If delayed transport, inoculate media and send as Biobag CO2 Transport system with Thayer-Martin and chocolate plates.
Specimen Types: Body fluid, discharge, pus, swab of genital lesions, urethral discharge (Send fresh specimen when available for men).
Urine Specimens: sediment of first 10ul of centrifuged urine collected at least 2 hours after last micturition, or first few drops of urine voided into a sterile cup for "first voided urine specimen" for asymptomatic males, or first void overnight urine, centrifuged.
