Only 1 specimen type required, unless otherwise specified
Volume: 20mL liquid,formed walnut size
Temperature: Refrigerated
Tube Type: Stool

Inpatient:
Place specimen in sterile cup.
Reference lab:
Place specimen in formalin tubes and mix specimen with preservative.
Do not overfill. It is recommended that 3 specimens should be collected one a day for 3 days. If microspordium is suspected place specimen in PVA and indicate this on request form. If trichrome smear is desired place specimen in PVA and indicate this on the request form. If Microsporidium or Trichrome smear is requested, they will be sent to a referral lab for testing.
